YOUNG PROFESSIONALS EVENING STARTS IN CLUTHA! - 15/04/2010

Press Release 13th April 2010.

Feedback Project Clutha has received indicates young people working in businesses within the Clutha District at times feel isolated and would like the opportunity to network with other young business people in the community.  In response to this feedback Project Clutha intend to start a Young Professionals group in the district.

The 'Young Professional Networking Evenings' will be held on a regular basis, with a keynote speaker, refreshments and the opportunity to meet other young people.  These evenings are open to anyone within the age group 16 - 40, who work in businesses in the Clutha district.  It is intended that the evenings be informal, relaxed and fun.  Donna Carline, chairperson of Project Clutha said: "There was a need for this group, many of our members had never met each other before we joined Project Clutha in September 2006, yet we all lived and work within the Balclutha business area.  We are keen to hold regular networking events."

The inaugural Young Professionals Networking evening will be held on Thursday, 17th June from 5.30pm, at the Rosebank Lodge.

Our keynote speaker will be Vicki Yarker-Hitchcock.  Vicki, originally from Melbourne, has chosen to live and work in Clinton and runs her own business providing workplace supervision and tutoring.  She will cover topics including getting on with staff, balancing work, life and home demands while still having time for yourself and your community.

If you would like to come along, or simply find out more, please call Donna Carline on (03) 418 2919 or email projectclutha@xtra.co.nz.  More information on www.projectclutha.co.nz
